Splice methods
A welded joint of a conveyor belt is always preferable, as this is our absolute strongest joining method. A welded joint is also very pu among our customers, as this solution can be quickly and easily assembled on site by the customer themselves.
For applications that do not allow the installation of a welded belt, or where splice with a welding machine on site is not possible, a belt with a mechanical joint can be advantageously used.
Double finger joint
As with a single finger joint, fingers are joined at the ends of the conveyor belt and then welded together under pressure and heat. We recommend an overlapped finger joint as it is the strongest and most flexible joint. A double finger joint can be used on all of our two and three layer conveyor belts.
Single finger joint
In a single finger joint, the fingers of the belt are joined at the ends of the trans belt, which are then welded together under pressure and heat. A single finger joint is only used on our single-layer belts and special constructions and ensures maximum flexibility without any level differences in the belt joint area.
Clip flat design
In this mechanical connection, a flat metal clip is pressed into the ends of the belt, which is then closed with a metal split. This type of connection is our second most solid connection type, ensuring high durability and traction. It is possible to mill the connection so that the clip is completely flush with the surface of the conveyor belt.
Clip round design
In this mechanical connection, a round metal clip is pressed into the ends of the conveyor belt, which is then closed with a metal split. This type of connection is typically used for conveyor belts with small roller diameters to ensure efficient handover. It is possible to mill the connection so that the clip is completely flush with the surface of the belt.
Glued bevel joint
We use a glued joint for rubber and felt conveyor belts, as these belts are not thermoplastic and therefore cannot be melted together. With this type of joint, the belt is ground at an oblique angle, after which the belt parts are joined with glue and pressure. A glued oblique joint can be used on all of our belt types.
Mechanical sheet metal clips
In a mechanical joint, a metal sheet clip is pressed into the ends of the conveyor belt, which is then closed with a metal split. This sheet clip can be used for stronger belt types and large roller diameters. We have the option of milling the belt in the joint so that the sheet clip is completely flush with the belt surface.
Overlapped splice
In an overlapped joint, the ends of the conveyor belt are divided into layers and overlapped, and finally welded together under pressure and heat. An overlapped joint can be used advantageously when the size of the joint area is of crucial importance. This type of joint can be used on all of our two and three layer conveyor belts.
Plastic zipper splice
To make a mechanical joint, a plastic zipper is melted into the ends of the belt, which is then closed with a plastic split. This type of joint is especially suitable for conveyor belts with small roller diameters, ensuring efficient handover. A joint with a zipper can be used on all of our belt types.
