This silicone coating is used for custom-made timing belts where an elastic, uniform and grippy contact surface is desired. The two variants are technically identical; the only difference is the color. The transparent variant has no actual color, while the blue variant is pigmented blue.
The silicone has a hardness of approx. 35–40° Shore A. The coating sprayed directly onto the top of the belt and is built up to the selected thickness. This means that there there is no joint in the silicone coating itselfThe finished surface becomes cohesive, elastic and suitable for applications where grip, gentle contact and a uniform surface are important.
The coating can be selected from 0.5mm to 12mm with 0.5 mm between each selectionThis allows for very precise adjustment of both compressibility, grip and the overall diameter of the belt.
For this silicone coating, a guide diameter factor of 20The indicative minimum diameter for the coating itself is therefore calculated as:
Minimum Ø ≈ coating thickness × 20.
Examples: 0.5 mm ≈ Ø 10 mm, 1.5 mm ≈ Ø 30 mm, 3 mm ≈ Ø 60 mm, 5 mm ≈ Ø 100 mm, 8 mm ≈ Ø 160 mm and 12 mm ≈ Ø 240 mm. The dropdown menu shows the minimum diameter directly for each thickness selection.
This is the minimum requirement from the coating itself. The selected timing belt may require a larger diameter due to tooth profile, reinforcement, belt width or construction. Therefore, always use the larger of the recommended minimum diameters of the coating and the base belt.
The tooth profile is selected to match the existing pulleys. The timing belt width and belt length are entered in mm. The PAZ nylon fabric and reinforcement are selected separately, where the specific belt type can be manufactured in the desired construction.
