ConCar V-belt - Profile SPZ 9.7x8 MM
We offer a large selection of SPZ V-belts from the ConCar brand in a standard profile of 9.8 × 8 mm. The SPZ profile is a narrow V-belt that has been developed for compact and efficient V-belt drives where stable operation, good power transmission and long service life are required. ConCar SPZ V-belts are used in many types of machines and systems, including small industrial machines, ventilation systems, compressors, pu , garden machinery, agricultural machinery and other mechanical installations where a reliable transmission belt in a smaller profile is needed.
SPZ V-belts are a stronger alternative to the classic Z-belt. An SPZ V-belt is typically about 30% stronger than a regular Z-belt, although in many cases they can run in the same pulley. This makes the SPZ profile an obvious choice if you want to upgrade an existing belt drive without necessarily changing the pulley. Similarly, profiles such as Z, ZX, 3L and related AV and AVX profiles can often be used in the same type of pulley, when the profile, length and space requirements suit the machine.
SPZ V-belts from ConCar are toothless and fabric-wrapped, unlike an XPZ V-belt, which is usually timing on the inside. The fabric-wrapped construction gives the belt a durable textile surface around the rubber, which protects the belt and ensures uniform contact with the V-groove of the pulley. The belt itself is made of neoprene rubber with polyester reinforcement, which helps the belt maintain its length during operation and provides a robust solution for common and demanding V-belt pulls.
The power is transferred through the friction between the belt flanks and the V-groove of the pulley. This means that the belt must lie correctly in the pulley so that the side contact is uniform. When installed correctly, the belt must not bottom out in the pulley, as the power should not be transferred via the bottom of the belt, but via the sides. If the belt lies too deep, too high or runs crookedly in the groove, this can cause increased heat, noise, slippage or unnecessary wear on both the belt and pulleys.
The SPZ profile is often used when higher power transmission is desired than with classic Z-V-belts, but still in a compact belt profile. With dimensions of 9.8 × 8 mm, the SPZ is an efficient narrow V-belt that is well suited for small and medium-sized belt drives where good load capacity, stable operation and a belt that does not take up unnecessary space are desired. The narrow profile makes the SPZ belt suitable for many systems where space, operational reliability and efficient power transmission are important factors.
If the belt drive is particularly heavily loaded, SPZ V-belts can also be purchased as a reinforced version with up to 50% higher strength. This can be an advantage on machines with high loads, many starts/stops, strong accelerations or operation where a regular standard belt wears out faster than desired. A reinforced SPZ V-belt can therefore be a good choice if you want a longer service life or greater safety in the belt drive.
When choosing a new ConCar SPZ V-belt, it is important to check both the profile and the length. Here, it is important to pay special attention to the fact that different V-belt profiles are often specified in different length measurements. Classic Z V-belts are typically specified in internal length (Li), while SPZ V-belts are usually specified in effective length (Ld/Lw). 3L and certain AV and AVX profiles, on the other hand, are often specified in external length (La). Therefore, two belts that fit the same pulley can have different length designations, even though in practice they are close to each other in physical size.
If you are changing from a standard classic Z V-belt to an SPZ V-belt, you should therefore not only compare the number in the belt designation. A Z-belt, an SPZ belt and a 3L belt can be measured in different ways, and it can lead to incorrect choices if you only compare the length directly. Always compare the existing belt's marking with the stated measurements for Li, Ld/Lw and La, or contact us if you are in doubt about which length corresponds to the old belt.
ConCar SPZ V-belts are a good choice for those who want an affordable, strong and reliable V-belt for regular or more heavily loaded belt drives in a compact profile. The fabric-wrapped surface, polyester reinforcement and stable SPZ profile make the belt suitable for many types of machines where reliable power transmission over a long period of time is needed.
If you are unsure which ConCar SPZ V-belt is right for your machine, we are happy to help. Send us a picture of the existing belt, the belt marking or information about the machine and we will find the correct replacement. We also advise on alternative lengths and help find a suitable replacement belt if the original belt is worn, discontinued or can no longer be read.
Convert to V-belts - Convert length from Li to Ld & La
Our online V-belt length converter is an efficient and reliable little tool for finding the desired V-belt length. The tool allows you to convert the length of the V-belt from its inner length (Li) to its effective length (Ld) and outer length (La), so you can easily choose the right size for your machine.
Using our online tool you can enter the inner length and in a few seconds get the effective length (Ld) & outer length (La). All you have to do is select your V-belt profile and enter the inner length of your V-belt.
Once you have entered these parameters, our tool will calculate the effective length (Ld) & external length (La) of the V-belt and show you the correct result. This makes it easy and quick to find the right size V-belt for your machine, so you can get back to work.
