INSIL BS/2 EM6-0+03 is a white silicone belt with a smooth carrier side, 2 polyester fabric layers and a total thickness of 1.6 mm. The soft silicone coating has a hardness of 30 Shore A. The variant is particularly distinguished by its wide temperature range of -40 to +180 °C and is therefore relevant as a process and conveyor belt where temperature is an important part of the operation.
The belt is relatively transversely stable and has a tensile force of 4 N/mm at 1% preload. The recommended minimum roller diameter is 40 mm, while the minimum diameter for counter-bending is 60 mm. The total weight is approx. 1.7 kg/m². These values are important when dimensioning a conveyor, because both roller size and counter-bending have an impact on the belt's service life and grooveing.
The smooth white silicone surface provides a uniform contact surface without an embossed profile. This makes the type suitable when items need to be transported smoothly and where the characteristic friction and temperature resistance of silicone is desired rather than a structured PVC or PU surface.
This variant is not marked with EC 1935/2004 or FDA approval in the product catalog property matrix and should therefore not be selected for direct food contact without separate documentation. If food approval is a requirement, there are other INSIL variants in the series that are registered for this purpose.
The belt is supplied in the desired width and endless length. When reordering, the type code, belt width, length, roller diameter and any counter-bending should be stated. This provides the best basis for selecting the correct splice and ensuring that the finished belt fits the existing belt conveyor or process machine.
