INSIL BV/2 EM8-0+03 is a white silicone conveyor belt with a matte M2 carrier side, 2 polyester fabric layers and a total thickness of 1.7 mm. The surface has a hardness of 30 Shore A. In contrast to the smooth INSIL variants, this type has a matte surface, which provides a different contact with the product and can be an advantage where a completely smooth silicone finish is not desired.
The belt is relatively transversely stable with a tensile force of 4 N/mm at 1% preload. The minimum roll diameter is 40 mm and the minimum diameter at counter-bending is 60 mm. The total weight is approx. 1.9 kg/m². The specified operating temperature range is -10 to +70 °C, which clearly distinguishes this M2 type from the high-temperature-resistant EM6 silicone belts.
The matte white carrier side provides a more subdued contact surface than a smooth silicone belt. This is especially relevant when transporting items where friction and release must be controlled without using a rough or embossed profile.
The product catalog marks this belt type as approved according to EC 1935/2004 and FDA. It is therefore relevant for food and process equipment when a white, matte silicone surface is suitable for the product and machine. Temperature requirements, cleaning agents, splice and contact form should always be assessed together with the belt type itself.
INSIL BV/2 EM8-0+03 is manufactured in the desired width and length. When replacing an existing conveyor belt, it is recommended to provide the full type code as well as drum and roller dimensions, so that the belt not only matches in width and length, but also mechanically fits the system.
