Open timing belts by the meter

We stock a large range of open polyurethane ( PU ) timing belts for linear applications and power transmission as well as drives with high loads and speeds. PU belts are available in the types T, AT HTD, RPP, SAT, L, XL, H and XH profile, and are driven by pulleys and manufactured with round or trapezoidal teeth, ensuring high tensile strength and precision. The series of Open PU belts are manufactured in thermoplastic polyurethane in 92 ShA and with a reinforcement in steel, Kevlar (aramid) or stainless steel. We also offer HP (high performance), HF (high flexibility) and HPF (high performance & flexibility) reinforcements, which are suitable for drives with heavy and repetitive processes as well as multi-axis drives with small pulleys, where the belt is exposed to strong, reverse bending.

The durable material is resistant to oil, grease and petrol and is temperature resistant from -25°C to +80°C. PU belts are used, among other things, in the food industry, for packaging machines, in transport systems and for gate and door systems. An open PU timing belt can be assembled into an endless timing belt, which is either done mechanically or by welding the timing belt together with a finger joint. You should expect about 50% less tensile strength in a welded timing belt compared to a solid timing belt. You can also have the timing belt assembled mechanically with a pin joint, which makes it possible to easily and quickly mount the timing belt directly on the application.

Please note that a mechanical pin joint only achieves 25-30% tensile strength compared to a solid timing belt. After the timing belt is assembled, the timing belt can be equipped with additional equipment such as v-guides and carriers, so that the timing belt is adapted to specific transport purposes and industries. In addition, the teeth or the back of the belt can be equipped with a nylon coating that improves driving characteristics and reduces noise. Open timing belts in PU

PU timing belts are made of polyurethane, which has a strong wear resistance. The different types of cords in the belt ensure different tensile strength, regardless of the task. A layer of different coatings can be applied to the back to solve different tasks.

It is possible to assemble (weld) an open timing belt with a melting tool to an endless timing belt of the desired length. However, one must expect approx. 50% less tensile strength than an endless timing belt without splice, also called a flax timing belt. Megalinear timing belts from Megadyne are produced with galvanized steel reinforcement.

These are also available with stainless steel cords or Kevlar cord (aramid). Standard timing belts are temperature resistant from -20 ° C to +80 ° C. Different applications require special materials which can be manufactured on request and which can withstand from -30 ° C to 110 ° C.
